Sauna Log, explained.

Short answers to the questions people ask before they take a Watch into the heat.

What is Sauna Log?

Sauna Log is a sauna and steam room tracker for iPhone and Apple Watch. It combines a heat timer with heart rate, calories, optional conditions, Apple Health logging and long-term insights.

Do I need an Apple Watch?

Yes. The active heat session is designed to be started and monitored on Apple Watch. The iPhone app manages settings, history, purchases and insights.

Can I use it away from my phone?

Yes. The Watch app is designed to work during a session without the iPhone nearby. It syncs the record when the devices reconnect.

What does the free trial include?

You can record three sessions free. An in-app purchase unlocks unlimited use, and Restore Purchase is available if you have already unlocked Sauna Log.

What are the default heat conditions?

Sauna defaults are 80°C and 10% humidity. Steam Room defaults are 45°C and 100% humidity. You can edit them on the Watch and they are remembered separately.

Can I use Celsius or Fahrenheit?

Yes. Choose Celsius or Fahrenheit in the iPhone Support settings. The preference updates on Apple Watch and is used in session history.

What languages does Sauna Log support?

Sauna Log is available in English, German, Finnish, Swedish, Japanese, Norwegian, Danish and Dutch.

Are the status updates medical advice?

No. They are descriptive prompts based on the heart-rate information available to Sauna Log and should not be treated as medical advice. Leave the heat if you feel unwell.

How do I track calories burned in a sauna on Apple Watch?

Start Sauna Log on Apple Watch, choose Sauna, select a timer and slide to start. During the session, the Watch can show active and total calories when they are provided by Apple Health or Apple Watch, and the saved record keeps those values.

Is there a sauna workout on Apple Watch?

Apple Watch does not provide a dedicated sauna workout type. Sauna Log is designed specifically for sauna and steam room sessions and uses HealthKit for eligible workout and heart-rate data; Apple may display the workout under a generic category.

How do I log a sauna session on Apple Watch?

Open Sauna Log on Apple Watch, tap Sauna, choose one of your timer presets and slide to start. The session continues with background timing, live heart rate and calorie tracking, then syncs to iPhone when available.

What happens to my health data?

Sauna Log requests HealthKit access only for features you choose to use. Read the current privacy policy for details.
